Skebo sees good opportunities to strengthen the supply of housing for the elderly in Bureå and therefore takes the initiative to develop supportive housing in existing ground floor apartments in the new construction on Norra Kustvägen in Bureå. The apartments are located in close proximity to the supportive housing complex Bureåborg, where support staff and community spaces are already established.
Supportive housing is an attractive and secure form of accommodation with opportunities for community and activities that we aim to offer more of, says Helena Markgren, CEO of Skebo.
The newly constructed ground floor apartments are modern and accessible, and with minor adjustments, they meet the municipality's guidelines for supportive housing. The proximity to services, public transport, and healthcare makes the area well-suited for the elderly who wish to stay in Bureå with good access to support and social connections.
Skebo aims to gradually offer the available ground floor apartments as supportive housing as interest arises. The ambition is for residents to have access to the same social content and security-enhancing activities offered at Bureåborg, with the possibility to use the communal space. A new walking and cycling path between the properties is planned to improve accessibility.
A prerequisite for proceeding with the initiative is for the Executive Board to approve the proposal.
If the Executive Board approves the proposal, the apartments will be listed on Skebo's website. The supportive housing is open to anyone aged 65 or older, and everyone has the opportunity to register their interest. Necessary supplementary investments will be made once interest has been shown and the first contracts have been signed.
