New Opportunity for High School Students - We are Testing High School Apartments

Are you starting high school in Skellefteå but have a long commute? Skebo is now testing a new concept with high school apartments to make everyday life easier for young people who need to live closer to school.

Many high school students live in other parts of the municipality or in nearby towns. For some, long commutes make everyday life difficult to manage. At the same time, there are vacant apartments in our housing stock, which opens up the opportunity to try new solutions. Therefore, we want to create more opportunities for safe and easy housing close to school.

How it works

The high school apartments are regular rental apartments earmarked for youth studying in high school.

  • You apply for the apartment through our website under the category Housing for high school students.
  • The apartments are allocated based on your queue points, in the same way as for other apartments.
  • You need to upload your acceptance letter when submitting your application.

Since individuals under 18 years old cannot sign rental agreements themselves, it is the guardian who signs the agreement and has the overall responsibility for the accommodation. When the resident turns 18 and completes their high school studies, there is the possibility for the guardian to transfer the apartment to the youth according to Skebo's rules for transfer.

We are monitoring the initiative

The high school apartments are a new initiative that we will monitor and evaluate. The goal is to create better conditions for young people to study in Skellefteå and at the same time make daily life a bit easier for those who have a long way to the high school.
